Project Rescue

Technology project going off track?

An independent read on where the project stands, what it takes to finish, and whether finishing is the right decision.

The signals are usually familiar.

One or two of these is a warning. Three is a project that will not correct itself.

  • Deadlines have moved more than once with no new confidence
  • Costs have passed budget and the end date is still unclear
  • The vendor and the business describe progress differently
  • Nobody can say plainly what is done and what is not
  • Users have seen the system and do not believe in it
  • The original business case has stopped being mentioned

Two stages, and you can stop after the first.

Stage 1

Rescue Assessment.

A focused, fixed scope review ending in a written recommendation you can take to a board.

  • Scope, contract and commercial position
  • Technical and data state review
  • Delivery capability and governance
  • Realistic cost and time to complete
  • Written recommendation and options
Stage 2

Recovery.

If recovery is the right call, BILDOT takes delivery ownership through to a working system.

  • Replanned scope and delivery plan
  • Reset governance and reporting
  • Vendor renegotiation or replacement
  • Delivery leadership through to live
  • Handover into ongoing management

Rescue Assessments are delivered through a focused engagement, with scope and timeline determined by the size and complexity of the project. The assessment stands on its own: you can act on it with us, with your existing partner, or on your own.

Four honest outcomes.

We will recommend stopping if stopping is right. That is the point of an independent view.

Recover

The project is viable and the plan is not. Scope, sequence and governance get rebuilt around what must be live first.

Restructure

The destination is right and the delivery model is wrong. Roles, phasing and decision rights are redrawn.

Replace

The platform cannot meet the requirement at acceptable cost. We document why and run an evidence based selection.

Stop

Continuing costs more than stopping. We quantify it, recover data and assets, and close the vendor position properly.

Better systems start with better decisions.
